The blanket from Hell

Early last year my niece asked me to make her a Little Heart Scrapghan blanket. It wasn’t a particularly hard blanket to make. If you follow the link to my Ravelry projects page you will see that the blanket is essentially crochet hearts that are made into a blanket.

Now this poor blanket through no fault of its own, has been on my WIP list for sooooo long. The poor blanket sat in time out for nearly 18 months.Yes you read that correctly this poor blanket has languished for well over 18 months. Each time I looked at it, it felt like a break up “It’s not you, it’s me”

This poor blanket has suffered through my developing interest in knitting, to the loss of my crochet mojo, procrastination and trying to work out how to put it together. I wont go into details because the pattern is a paid for pattern. I will say that it is very well written and easy to follow. So in a way it was me not the blanket. The length of time it took me to complete is in no way a reflection of the pattern.

Once I got stuck into putting the blanket together this blanket quickly became the Blanket From Hell. And I have to say I was not a fan of all the ends I had to weave in at the end.

But as with life you take the good with the bad. And the bad times did end. The Blanket was finally completed and given to my niece before I finally lost the plot and burned it 😉

So the moral of this story is…. my niece doesn’t get to pick another blanket. Next time she can make it herself.
